Andrew West runs Woking Dominoes at dominoes.ourscore.games and is responsible for your personal information. Contact admin@parent.games about privacy, your information or a concern.
The short version
Use a nickname, an emoji and no identifying details about children. People with a game code can watch that game’s scores and spectator messages. Club accounts can see the wider game area; only signed-in accounts can play or send messages. Only send information you are comfortable sharing with the club and visitors. This is a casual scorekeeping app, not a confidential messaging service.
What we collect and why
- Your chosen initials, nickname, random player ID and emoji or optional photo help distinguish players and link their results between games.
- Dates, attendance, scores, quiz answers, house-rule suggestions and votes support the games and their history. The optional drinks feature records who bought a round and player nudges; it does not record what anyone drank.
- Spectator names, messages, reactions and timestamps support interaction at the table. A random browser identifier limits repeated messages.
- We record the terms and privacy-notice versions, time of agreement, adult/supervised participation choice and player session to administer access. The supervision choice and agreement record are not included in the public player list.
- For approved adult hosts, we store their player ID, permission date, hashed private invitation and session identifiers, device-session expiry and agreement record. This enables host access and lets Andrew revoke it; private invitation and session details are not published.
- Admin sign-in uses the authorised admin’s email address. Cloudflare processes connection details such as IP addresses, device/browser information and security events to deliver and protect the service.
- If you contact us, we use your message and contact details to respond and handle your request.
Our lawful basis for core adult-player services is taking steps at your request and performing the service agreement. We rely on legitimate interests for proportionate security, basic game administration, club history, supervised children’s game records and handling enquiries or reports, with particular care for children’s interests. When responding to a statutory data-rights request we also rely on our legal obligations. Optional adult profile photos are used with your consent: choose an emoji at any time to withdraw that choice. Children’s participation is adult-managed; we do not ask for their date of birth, email address, location or photo. Accepting the terms is not blanket consent to use your data for other purposes.
Adult accounts
Clerk provides our account sign-in and recovery. When you choose a sign-in option, Clerk and that provider process your email, account identifier, basic profile information and device/security information. Your provider password is not given to this app. We store your Clerk user identifier, verified primary email, agreement record and the link to your chosen player. Your email and account-link requests are visible to you and club admins, not in the spectator scoreboard. We use this information to provide the account service you request and protect player access.
New adult players can create a nickname. To connect an existing adult player, a club admin checks and approves the request. A signed-in club account is required for the game area and game actions. Children do not need their own accounts; a signed-in supervising adult manages their profile. A game code still lets anyone watch that game or use its digital display, but messages require a club account.
Clerk and sign-in providers may process information outside the UK, including in the US. See Clerk’s privacy policy and data-processing terms for its roles, subprocessors and transfer safeguards. Contact Andrew for details of safeguards applicable to your data. We do not send game scores, child profiles or player photographs to Clerk as part of this integration.
Account links and agreement records are kept while the account is used, with an annual review alongside player records. Clerk manages sign-in session expiry and security records. You can sign out or manage your sign-in methods in My account. Deleting your sign-in account does not automatically remove historical scores or the app’s player-link record; contact Andrew to request removal or anonymisation of those records as well.
Playful standings
We use saved game records to count double-six starts, double-blank finishes, score streaks, attendance streaks, drinks rounds bought, correct quiz-answer streaks and submission speed. Badges and XP are calculated from those records; they do not create a separate purchase or prize record. The server records the first score submission for a round; after saving, we keep relative delays rather than exact submission times. A score entered on someone’s behalf receives the round’s average delay. These public game statistics use our legitimate interest in providing the club’s requested scorekeeping features and follow the game-history retention described below. They do not change match scores.
“Table twitcher” is optional. If you switch it on, you consent to using your player cookie to associate deliberate standings visits with your profile and publicly display your counts. At most one visit per ten seconds counts; background refreshes do not count. We store a count per game and the most recent counted visit time to prevent rapid repeats. You can withdraw this consent in Bragging rights at any time; switching it off removes your stored counts and stops counting. This optional feature is disabled for supervised child profiles. No additional tracking cookie is set.
Supervised children
An adult must operate the app and directly supervise the child, with permission from the child’s parent or guardian for the participation and public nickname and scores. This participation permission is not consent for advertising or other uses. We do not use a child’s consent as the lawful basis for their game records. Select the supervised-player option, use a made-up nickname and emoji, and keep names, school details, contact information and photographs of children out of profiles, messages and rule suggestions. We record which adult account manages the child profile. Club admins can connect or change that adult when needed; the account link is not shown in spectator views. Photo uploads are disabled for a profile marked as supervised. If identifying information about a child appears, report it to Andrew for removal.
For younger players
Play with your grown-up. Pick a pretend name and an emoji. Other people can see that name and your scores. Do not share your real name, school, address or photo. If anything worries you, stop and tell your grown-up. You or your grown-up can ask Andrew to change or remove your information.
Who can see information
Anyone with a game code can view that game’s spectator scoreboard, messages and digital display. A shared digital-display link also opens that game’s display without sign-in. Signed-in club accounts can see the wider game area. Club admins can manage games and player-link requests; the owner can assign other club admins. A game code alone does not authorise joining or changing scores. Do not share a game code or display link beyond people invited to watch or play, or impersonate another player.
Cloudflare supplies hosting, database, photo storage, security and admin sign-in. Messages to our contact address are forwarded through Cloudflare to Andrew’s Google Gmail account. These providers may process information outside the UK. Cloudflare’s data-processing terms describe its safeguards, including standard contractual clauses and the UK Addendum for relevant restricted transfers. Contact Andrew for information about the safeguards applicable to your data. A Western Europe storage location does not mean every request stays in the UK. We do not sell your information, run advertising or intentionally add audience analytics.
How long we keep it
A player session lasts up to 90 days after joining; you can join again. Expired session mappings and their agreement records are removed when the next game change is saved. Host sessions also expire after 90 days and expired records are removed on a later saved game change. Host permissions and hashed invitations remain until Andrew revokes or replaces them. The spectator cookie lasts seven days. Messages are limited to the latest 100 per game.
Game history and player profiles remain available between seasons until Andrew removes or anonymises them. Andrew reviews the need for these records at least annually; removal is currently handled by the admin, not an automatic account-deletion service. Contact us if you want your profile, photo or other information removed. Replacing a photo with an emoji removes the active photo and requests its deletion from storage; a previously loaded image may remain in a browser cache for up to a day. Provider recovery copies may take longer to expire. We explain any legal reason for keeping specific information when dealing with a request.
Cookies and your device
We use cookies to remember a player, limit repeated spectator messages and protect host and admin access. Adding the app to your home screen is optional; the install shortcut does not track you or store a reminder preference. We do not add advertising or audience-tracking cookies. The cookie notice explains their names, purposes, lifetimes and how to remove them.
Your choices and rights
You can view a game’s scores without an account when someone shares its code. Playing or sending a message requires a signed-in adult account. A chosen nickname, initials (which may be made up), emoji and player session connect your scores; a photo is optional. Information can be entered by you, your supervising adult or the table’s authorised scorer. We do not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you. You can use an emoji without supplying a photo, change your nickname and stop using the app. You may ask to access or correct your data, request erasure or restriction, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and request portability where applicable. These rights depend on the circumstances. We normally respond within one month and may ask for proportionate information to verify you; knowing a public nickname alone is not proof of identity. A parent or guardian can contact us about a child’s information.
If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. We update this notice when the service changes and bring material changes to players’ attention.
